Kendra Miguez holds two Masters degrees in psychology (Educational Psychology from the University of Colorado Denver and Transpersonal Counseling Psychology from Naropa University). In addition, Kendra is the Director and Founder of the Colorado Women's Center with locations in Boulder and Longmont, Colorado. While pursuing her Masters in Educational Psychology, Kendra gained a strong understanding of child development from birth to adulthood. This knowledge allowed her to fully appreciate the cognitive, emotional, physical, social, and educational growth a human being experiences throughout the lifespan. Studying children also allowed her to make close connections with parents, and it was the appreciation of these intimate experiences that ultimately guided her to pursue another Masters degree, this time focusing more on adult behavior.
Kendra has specialized training in various modalities of therapy, including Gestalt Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Client-Centered Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness-Based Relapse Prevention (MBRP), Transpersonal Counseling, Somatic Therapy, Howard Gardner’s Multiple Intelligences, Yoga and Meditation, and the Enneagram.
Kendra has worked for many years in the field of psychotherapy and counseling and is a registered psychotherapist in the state of Colorado. She believes that there is an innate goodness and capability for growth in every individual. She uses a non-judgmental, compassionate approach to assist her clients in finding their own empowerment.
